Windshield Repair FAQ's

Is it true you will come repair my windshield at my place of work?
Absolutely, we will come to you whether you are at work, home, shopping, or at your child's soccer game!

How long does the repair process take? In most cases we can have your windshield repaired in 30 minutes.

Does my damage qualify for repair?  Most impact repairs smaller than a fifty cent piece(1.5 inches) and cracks up to 6" can be repaired. However, it all depends on the type of break and where it is located on the windshield.  Your safest bet is just give us a call to evaluate your damage and to schedule an appointment.

Will you have to drive my car? No, we can do the repair where you car is parked.  We will need to get in your car to diagnose the break and to possibly add heat to the repair area during the process.

Will my insurance cover the repair? If you have comprehensive insurance(full coverage) most insurance companies will cover the entire cost of the repair and waive the deductible to you, leaving you no out of pocket expense.

Wow, so the repair will not cost me a penny with full coverage insurance? So will my insurance go up because of the claim? Most of the time insurance companies will mark the claim as a no fault incident, however you might want to check with them to make sure.  Be sure and tell them you want Roo's Windshield Repair to professionally repair your windshield.

Should I call my insurance agent/carrier first?  Roo's Windshield Repair is an authorized vendor with all national insurance networks, so we can take care of all paperwork for you.  However, if you do call your agent/carrier tell them you want the professionals at Roo's to do the repair for you!

Why would my insurance company pay 100% of the repair?  It saves them money, windshield replacement can be quite expensive and paying for a few repairs is much less expensive and sacrifices the original factory seal from the auto manufacturer.

Do I have to use the repair shop my insurance carrier recommends?  Absolutely not!  This is illegal in most states and is known as "steering".   You can go wherever you want to have the repair done.  However, if you call Roo's first it will be the only call you have to make and the rest will be taken care of!

Do you have a warranty on your work?  Yes we do!  We guarantee all of our work as long as you own the vehicle.  If for any reason you are not satisfied with the repair just call us!  If we can't repair it to your satisfaction, we will refund the original purchase price to the party that paid for the original repair.

I don't have full coverage insurance, what do I do?  Call us anyway, repair is cheap compared to having to pay for full replacement.  If you wait the windshield could crack out making a repair impossible.  Most importantly, any unrepaired windshield damage could jeopardize the SAFETY of you and your family.  We accept cash, checks, and most major credit cards so don't wait!  Call Roo's today!

Can the damage spread during the repair process? While it is possible for this to happen the chances a very low.  If for any reason this does happen Roo's will not charge you for the repair and will recommend a facility for a Certified Professional Replacement.

Headlight Restoraiton FAQ's

Does Roo's offer a warranty on your work?
Yes we do!  We offer a 3 year warranty on the lenses from turning cloudy/foggy again.  We will come back and restore them again at no charge if this happens.  In addition, if you are not happy with the results you don't have to pay us anything!

I have seen do it yourself kits at big box stores and auto parts stores.  Why would I pay for Roo's to restore my headlights?  This is true, there are many kits on the market that allow you to restore your lenses yourself.  These kits are merely a polishing system and do not re-apply the ultra-violet protective coat that is so crucial to providing long lasting results.  With these kits you will probably have to re-polish every 4-6 months and the results will not be near as dramatic as what we can accomplish with our professional system.

Why did my lenses get foggy to begin with?  Plastic headlight lenses are made from polycarbonate.  While this is a very durable plastic it is very porous.  A protective coat is applied at the factory but after years of sunlight and environmental exposures the coating breaks down leaving a ugly white, yellow, foggy, or cloudy appearance.  This restricts light output putting your safety at risk and reducing the overall appearance of your auto.

How long does a typical restoration take?  Usually about an hour per vehicle.  Once done the vehicle needs to remain parked for about 20-30 minutes depending on outside temperatures.  After that the car can be driven.  However, please wait at least 24-48 hours before washing your automobile.

Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening again?  Applying a quality polish or wax to the lenses a few times a year will extend the life of the U.V. coating.  Everytime you polish your car just put a coat on the lenses, this will also make the bugs easier to remove!
